German Design Award
The German Design Awards jury, comprised of 30 design experts from various fields, evaluates products based on ten different criteria under the auspices of the German Design Council. This jury represents all aspects of daily life: from residential interior design and business spaces to transportation and digital media. With this diverse body, the German Design Council aims to represent and promote the design world across Germany.
The German Design Council is an independent, international organization that aims to create a productive communication platform between companies regarding design expertise and to raise design awareness among the public. Founded as a foundation in 1953 at the initiative of the German Bundestag, the German Design Council contributes to the design industry through competitions, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and publications. Iconic Awards
For 60 years, the "Design Council" has been striving for holistic environmental design. Established on the initiative of the German Bundestag (Bundestag) and supported by German industry, the council's mission is to promote the improvement of the quality of life through good design. The "Iconic Awards" competition focuses on exceptional, exemplary architecture and its integration into the urban, cultural, and economic context. The subtitle "The Entire World of Architecture" defines a program in this context: Because architecture with an iconic claim is only possible within a system where nothing is left to chance. In this context, the love of detail, materials, and fittings are as important as the building itself.
But we also think further: Architecture reflects the attitudes and ideas of developers and architects. Therefore, architectural communication is also a part of the competition. Consequently, the "Iconic Awards" recognize those who, through their creativity, enhance the world and offer people a higher quality of life.
